Its official. The City of Saskatoon has locked out transit operators. Were already hearing of Saskatoon students who rely on the bus, who already face many financial pressures, being stranded by this lockout. This is unacceptable - student and Saskatoons faith in our transit system is shaken. How can community transit be taken seriously when the city cannot even offer them? 11,000+ undergraduates rely on Saskatoon transit to get to campus, the grocery story, their childs daycare, & back home. Theyre left scrambling now. Your USSU will be talking with City Councillors immediately to discuss the impacts of leaving students, who have already paid for this service, will have on our relationship with transit.
