Its only like talking to a lamp, because in a way, youre telling people to not think for themselves. Youre dealing in a lot of absolutes and hatespeech. Naturally, this comes off like a fanatic. Its not impossible for there to be a secular fundamentalist. Denying it only proves my point. Why should people exchange one kind of harsh brain dead fanaticism for another? Just because you say think for yourself doesnt make you a true freedom fighter. A lot of people who suffered in communist countries can attest for that. Say what you want, but Voice of the Martyrs has a point. Youre problems are not our problems. If you cant entertain a different opinion or belief without accepting it, thats your mental weakness, not theirs. Their weakness was not giving you enough freedom, and being able to present religion in an intelligent, informed, experienced manor and respect your right to choose. Thats where THEY went wrong. Or I can only assume. Thats what it sounds like. That being said you demanding people leave behind religion because its false when theres no absolute proof for that either means you have already become what you hate. I dont want you to become religious. But I do want you to calm down and look in the mirror. Beware of becoming what you hate, because a lot of hardcore anti religious people now adays conduct their rants in an almost religious fervor. Humanity is the problem (and the solution). Well have the same problems with or without religion. Humans need to take responsibility for their actions. Cuz quite frankly, both people like you AND the people that you hate are using religion as a crutch. While THEY use religion as an excuse not to think for themselves (God forbid we have more intelligent theists), you good sir are using it as a scape goat for all of your problems. Apparently we Americans have had a bad history of this. We do it with every president (based on some truth but still rediculous). Gods not forcing anything on you. Your suffering is self imposed (your parents way of teaching you I blame mostly. This happens a lot.) based on how your parents taught you and how you took it. Its probably better to blame people on a case by case basis than to blame an idea. You blaming everything on religion sounds like what a lot of fascists and communists have done to unite and control people. Dont become what you hate, friend. Your upset demeanor reminds me of a religious fanatic basing his logic on emotions more than anything else. Youre only hurting yourself that way. Peace.
