Its pretty amazing that if you go to craigslist and put the word vegan in the housing section, you will have about 80% of ads of vegans WANTING a vegan place, and the rest are offering. Its great that vegans are setting their standards high and looking for vegan homes. At this point the demand is much higher than supply for some reason. I think more vegans who are suffering with non-vegan roommates (or parents) should embrace the idea of teaming up with a fellow vegan(s) and share a cruelty-free (and stink-free) home. I guess they should contact each other, rather than trying to find the right landlords, and then rent a house/flat together.
