Its pure chaos at the Hagen market bus stop. Huge crowds of demonstrators and mourners marching through with a massive convoy of Police cars all determined to avenge the death of an officer. That horrid sound of machetes dragging along the pavement causing sparks to fly upward, stones being hurled through the air, and a sea of humanity and buses all fleeing for safety.... of course Im seated in the front of a big bus enclosed by fragile glass windows.... Im laying back with my head in the lap of the passenger behind me to avoid any potential projectiles flying through the air... just trying to get down to Goroka and catch a flight to Moresby.... I wouldnt be the first Stephen to be stoned but I would prefer to avoid that if at all possible. :)
