Its quite interesting our discourse in class this evening. We are reminded that violence whether we know it or not does exist here in Samoa. The argument is portrayed via video games like Trevor/GrandTheftAuto/TheLastofUs that are lightly thought of by many of our parents as just games do bring violence in our homes and our kids/teens play and experience. At any rate, while the psychologists and their studies are taking time to confirm if there is a definite connection of too much gaming leading to violent behavior. I think lea e manaia foi lava le fasi lea e fai i tamaiti samoa; like le oke a le tina i lana fanau; ka pe loa lava le tv (psp/xbox) laea ae o aku i fafo e fai ni feau...uma upu. To make it short, We should be mindful of all the leo need values, behavioral skills, and social scripts our children are learning of from these games. If left uncontrolled, tatou loa o lea vaaia what the palagi man asserted to as -- Shooting in the dark. If its hard to believe, well it was also hard to believe the Columbine High School and the Colorado Theater shooting, but it happened. Play it safe parents, theyre not just games -- food for thought.
