Its refreshing to see this guy completely own these CNN newsmen with actual facts while they continue to try to paint the entire Muslim religion as extremists and woman haters. Its amazing how many people seem to think that all Muslim nations are like Saudi Arabia or Iran. Or that all Muslims believe what ISIS believes. And thats the thing about fear, when people are fearful the propagandists are gonna play and try to rally everyone against THE ENEMY. And its disgusting to me how many people buy this shit hook line and sinker. Every time someone on my feed post something an article trying to paint the ENTIRE Muslim culture as terrorist hate mongers who want to convert the entire world, I get saddened and disgusted. Because while there are many Muslims out there who are extremists who have that goal, the vast majority of Muslims dont follow that kind of ideology. Look at Christianity and all of the differences between the different sects. Islam is very similar with many sects that have various different interpretations and practices based on the Koran, just like various Christian groups have different interpretations of the bible. When you do this shit, painting an entire group or religion as the enemy because of the actions of a loud extremists minority in their culture, you are playing into the same kind of fear mongering that Hitler used to turn an entire nation against the Jews. And the saddest thing is you are so blinded by fear and prejudice that you simply cannot see it. I also know nothing I say is going to change most peoples minds. Hell, I bet a lot of you arent even going to read this whole paragraph or even watch the video. I hope you do. Because if humanity is going to progress as a species and actually leave something worth having for future generations, were going to have to actually learn the lessons of the past and apply them instead of the same patterns that have led us to war, oppression and atrocity over and over again. Heres the description of the video from the you tube page: Religious scholar Reza Aslan took some serious issue on CNN Monday night with Bill Maher‘s commentary about Islamic violence and oppression. Maher ended his show last Friday by going after liberals for being silent about the violence and oppression that goes on in Muslim nations. Aslan said on CNN that Maher’s arguments are just very unsophisticated. He said these “facile arguments” might sound good, but not all Muslim nations are the same. Aslan explained that female mutilation is an African problem, not a Muslim one, and there are Muslim-majority nations where women are treated better and there are even female leaders.* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down. https://youtube/watch?v=6ibKWVTFSak
