Its safe to say that most Nigerian doctors practicing in Nigeria - TopicsExpress

Its safe to say that most Nigerian doctors practicing in Nigeria need loads of international exposure. I guess this is the only way their primitive arrogance can be cut down to size! What do they really know in this Nigeria that gives them the effrontery to say they ought to head practically every unit in a hospital? How can a doctor who spent a couple of semesters studying a bit of every thing claim to be more knowledgeable than other professionals who spent all their semesters studying everything about a particular discipline? Have these malaria doctors ever heard of Shinya Yamanaka? A simple Google search will tell you that he did not become a Nobel Laureate on the strength of his degree in medicine but rather as a result of his quintessential work as a researcher whose discovery has revolutionized the field of stem cell research. I think the time that these Nigerian doctors spent communicating with cadavers as medical students must have somewhat mutated the Humility Gene in them! In their warped minds, they think a medical pathologist is more qualified to head a medical laboratory where a certified medical lab scientist exists? It is these same Nigerian doctors who think they have a right to violate a patients body without explaining, apriori, the rationale of any invasive procedure that they want to conduct. In this age of Google, theyre so arrogant and self-deluded that they think every patient will not understand the medical jargon they have in their heads! Their first infantile claim to exceptional intelligence is always premised on the minimum entry requirements for Medicine, and also the redundant minimum of 6years they spent (maybe wasted is more appropriate) in medical school in Nigeria. This reasoning is in spite of the prevailing knowledge that many of them could hardly pass their simple pre-clinic exams on their first sitting. ngrguardiannews/lead-story/169538-doctors-strike-fg-nma-disagree-on-demands
