Its says in Colossians 3.. Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. (Colossians 3:12-14 ESV) How cool would that be? To truly forgive? Can you imagine the shape we would be in if Christ dredged up the past every time we came to him for forgiveness? If He forgave with malice? To think, sure Ill forgive ya, but youre still an idiot!.. What would it truly be like, to forgive others without being forgiven? To truly know how to forgive and forget? To love wholly without reciprocation, and to just be content with our actions, and not those of others? It is never wrong to try and perfectly love those who arent perfect.. after all, we are one them. Have our actions always shown kindness? Have we always known what was right, but still chosen wrong? Have our decisions always been the right ones? Of course not, so why is it fair to hold others to a higher bar of accountability than we hold ourselves? It isnt, and never will be. Be blessed folks.
