Its so true. A good portion of my book talks about this, about overcoming the perception and the odds. And it all centers around a dog who was rescued as a baby from a storm drain, who could easily have been written off as just another throwaway... who went on to help save the life of a human throwaway... and together, magic ensued. Heres to never listening to what they say. Heres to listening only to that inner voice, telling you that there are no limits. Shayna listened to that voice, and decided she wanted to become a brainiac. How fortunate I was, to have witnessed the blossoming of an intellect and spirit so huge, so driven, so pure, and so inspiring.
