Its starting to get right up my nose .... Notice how the biological sciences have been infected with the language of theoretical physics. In Neuroscience we hear of Proton-pumps and the Proton-gradient. WTF are they talking about? They are talking about charge separation, Voltage potentials and the flow of electrical current. This is the same denial that rules the language of the myriad disciplines of modern scientific inquiry. By using different language they somehow manage to convince the general public and them selves, they are talk about something completely different. Instead of using well understood terminology we get stories of cells breathing protons . :( Oh well :)
