Its strangely comforting lying in bed listening to raindrops - TopicsExpress

Its strangely comforting lying in bed listening to raindrops rattling on the tin roof. At dawn I checked to ensure that Bangalow market was indeed cancelled- it was washed out. It gave me an opportunity to get stuck into a pile of Davidsons plums and make another few dozens jars of jam. Im half way through the task now. Bruce the brush turkey has spent much of the day hunched up under the carport, occasionally venturing out for a feed. Everything is so absurdly green out there now and the frogs are bopping loudly in the veggie garden pond. A green tree frog was glued to the outside of a glass door in the bathroom, showing us its little suckers. Jo and I saw something amazing last night. Coming back from driving Maisie home we saw a gum tree hanging over the road at the beginning of Friday Hut Road. We could have sworn it was covered in Christmas decorations. The headlights caught the wet shiny leaves in a way that made them sparkle like diamonds. We backed up to have another look. We then had to navigate our way down the bumpy fast flowing creek that was Gittoes Lane. We never complain about the rain, even if it does play havoc with our schedule. Just glad to see it.
