Its such a fine line living vegan, promoting compassion and feeling like your in a full time battle to be the only voice and action for the helpless when people almost violently, promote their right to harm and exploit victims violently. I spent pretty much my entire life with moments not, vegetarian. True, I didnt see the connection because of our own farms. Seemed harmless if i wasnt marching a live creature to death. What made the connection? Shame. Honestly. Unintentional shame. I spent a week with a well known celebrity vegan. Never pushed, never said anything. But KNOWING his standards made my own seem cheap and selfish. I saw what he saw and why, and wanted to be someone he didnt see as less of a human. He made me walk my walk, just because he did. Its my example of how big an influence we have on others simply be doing the right thing. Yes, he has public promotion, not there, while working he didnt. It was just knowing... but its knowing that even the ones who DONT think it applies to them....are listening and being positively influenced. When you feel like your talking to a rock, or worse ducking those angry rocks remember this. The more they react, the more its affecting them on a personal level. Just keep walking in compassion, people will follow.
