Its surprising, the little things that bring back sweet memories of my Daddy, Hershel Dunlap, who has been with Jesus several years now. When I have my cup of morning coffee, I think of how he especially savored his 1st cup of the day, and the 2nd, and the 3rd... Today, Im thinking of the tattoo on his arm: USA. When I was a little girl, I would ask him about it. Hed look chagrinned and explain he got it when he was in the army. I think he was just a tiny bit regretful of the tattoo (although hed be a cool ink dude today! :)) but he never regretted serving his country. I wish we could share a cup of morning coffee today so I could tell him, once more, how much I love him and how glad I am that he was willing to help protect our freedom by serving in the military. I cant say that to him, so Im saying it to all of you who have, are, or will serve our country. (And that includes my stepdad, Norman Wheeler, who has quite an interesting and distinguished record of service in the military.)
