Its taken me a few days to completely absorb last weekend. 2014 MS Challenge Walk Charleston ranks in my top 5 life experiences. Awe inspiring does not begin to fully describe the level of emotion I felt. There were right at 300 people walking across the finish line together. We were all there for the same reason - to unite in the fight against a debilitating neurological disease; Multiple Sclerosis. There were walkers, volunteers, and those with MS. I saw husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, and friends walking 50 MILES with smiles on their faces. My team was humbling. That is the best word I can come up with. Perhaps the most inspiring member of our team was Lucy. She is a mother of two daughters with MS. She trudged every step through sun, rain, and fatigue with a purpose. Lucy and I cried together at the finish line from overwhelming physical and emotional exhaustion. So, facebook....what is YOUR passion? Find it. Believe it. Live it. Im not going to say this experience makes me believe one person can change the world, but I DO believe a group of people can make a difference. This is our world. We are responsible. Find a way to serve those around you. Surely, our heart will then be full.
