Its that time of year again, one animal abuser leaves (Ringling Bros) and another comes in...YES the Grand National Rodeo is coming next month. I already created the events but here are the details. Protest Grand National Rodeo Cruelty Oct 17-18 & Oct 24-25: 6-7:30pm @ Cow Palace Where: Cow Palace 2600 Geneva Avenue (Street Parking Available) Daly City, CA 94014 Dates: Oct 17-18 & Oct 24-25 (Fri & Sat two weekends in a row) Time: 6-7:30 (please try to arrive on time) Leaflets, Signs, & Banners provided. But feel free to make your own sign. Please help protest the Grand National Rodeo, an event that has been celebrating animal cruelty for over 70 years. It is unimaginable just how many animals have suffered and died in those 70 plus years. To think that no one was there to document and be a voice for those animals and that their agony was unseen and unheard breaks my heart. We can no longer stand by and do nothing. Please come out for these animals being tormented in front of hundreds of laughing people. There are numerous videos of rodeo cruelty but specifically, Flying U Rodeo company was caught on video three years ago at Grand National Rodeo using the hot shot on a steer and bull, while they were confined in the chute. Flying U employees & Rodeo contestants were also seen severely twisting and pulling the tails of calves, steers, & bulls as well as severely twisting their necks, kicking, punching, stomping, hitting, spitting on and poking the animals in order to rile them up. There was also abuse to the horses used for bucking; horses that collapsed in the chutes and had to be dragged away. Mainly we are here to show solidarity for the animals but also to be a voice of compassion and justice to the children, young people and newcomers of the rodeo. What is obvious to us may not be so to others, especially young people. Please come to as many as you can and leave your companion animals at home. There is street parking available, typically if you arrive earlier than the event. It gets really cold at the Cow Palace so dress warm!
