Its that time of year when people, well, women, like to nest. Were snuggling in for the long, cold winter nights. Ive been wanting to make some changes around my house. I live in a relatively small house and it isnt an old house. Old houses are wonderful with all the character built into them. New houses need to have character added to them. We made small changes - such as, our dining room is now our computer room. The dining room was very small so we broke out the wall between the kitchen and the dining room; and its one larger room now. There are french doors separating the computer room from the living room. The family room is now our dining room. Theres a half wall between the kitchen and the dining room so it is open and seems roomier. Our dining room has a half-french door leading onto the deck and a fireplace. We also installed beadboard in part of the downstairs - but Ive been thinking it would be nice to install beadboard in the rest of the downstairs. I would also love to install old wide plank pine flooring but this is just a dream because of the expense of a project like this. Right now, I think Ill be moving furniture around and, in January, Id like to repaint. Do you have any plans to nest?
