Its the birthday of Jim Henson, born this day in Greenvillle, Mississippi in 1936. Henson was a man who liked to dream, and he passed that on to the many followers of the characters he created for Sesame Street: Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Miss Piggy, and of course, Kermit the Frog. Henson conceived of the idea and coined the term Muppets, a combination of marionette and puppet. Henson said: Follow your enthusiasm. Its something Ive always believed in.
