Its the final day of Bring a Friend week and this week Ive been acknowledging the friends Ive met through Scouting who have had an impact on my life. I turned up at my first Gang Show rehearsal in 2001, looking forward to a great experience, making friends, and chance to perform. Its fair to say I did not expect to meet my future husband! From the minute we met, our mutual passions of Scouting and performing arts were obvious, and have led us on an incredible journey over the last 13 years. We have shared millions of Scout memories together, and it really helps to be with someone who has identical values to you. Even both of our parents met through Scouting! In every role we have, there is always at least 1% of the time we find it challenging, frustrating or difficult. In this very public role, these are the times I dont post on Facebook. Craig is the one who gets me in these moments. Hes patient, supportive, always wants to listen to my dilemmas, and gives the best advice. It helps hugely for me that he knows almost everyone in the movement too! Im away from home a lot which is hard for both of us, but he is the most amazing supporter of the work I do. Craig is my best friend in the world and I am so grateful to have met him through Scouting. I love you xxx
