Its the first quiet minute weve had since Wednesday morning when I got the call from an unknown stranger saying mom had been in an accident. Its been quite a week, filled with fears and triumphs. Im amazed by so any things right now. The strength of my mother. The way God puts people in place as they are needed. The miracle of technology and how you can type a few sentences and send a photo and suddenly a family is united in prayer all across the country. The way friends hurt when you hurt, and how people will stop what they are doing to pray for someone they may not even know personally. I knew she would be ok when faced with the news of intensive surgery on her spinal cord, mom told me we needed to buy stamps. Because she only had two left, and there were bills due at the end of the month. It bothered her that her to-do list wasnt finished. She was running errands that day. Picking up prescriptions and such. Her mind is so strong. Her tiny body, even stronger. Her determination, off the charts. So for tonight, Im just really thankful that her to-do list isnt finished. Thats probably what has gotten her this far. Prayer matters. Love to all of you.
