Its the oddest climate in my house. Peaceful and still. Early in the day. Five dogs snoozing. A bird chirps loudly and occasionally takes to wings all about us, eluding capture all morning. HOW did it get inside with us? More significantly, HOW are FIVE happy dogs sleeping, oblivious and not going wild with desire to kill, to play with it or just to make a game of the chase? Its an odd morning writing, listening to some of my precious audio book Me Before You, waiting for final election results, waiting for the bird to tire enough to slip my fingers around its closed wings without injury, counting my blessings and feeling oh so grateful to have this odd, peaceful morning....not feeling like Im waiting for anything at all.
