Its the walk that matters... In Hebraic Roots, there are many - TopicsExpress

Its the walk that matters... In Hebraic Roots, there are many with a hunger for the knowledge of truth and thats great BUT..... that is only half of the equation. We are told that we must worship him in Spirit and Truth. We seem to have a problem finding a balance between the two... leaning heavily towards spirit and then to truth... and then back again. Having all the knowledge of scripture without the spirit is pointless. Even the Living Torah had to be led by the spirit! Luke 4: 1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. 3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. How do we possibly expect to fare better without being led by the spirit? There is a half-truth belief that the ONLY purpose of the spirit is to give us understanding of scripture... while this is true, again, its only a part of the whole truth. Show me one place in scripture where Yeshua or His disciples performed a single miracle without first being filled with the Ruach HaKodesh. The Word gives us the instructions for establishing His Kingdom on Earth but its the Spirit that gives us the ability to do so. Knowledge only takes you so far. It is understanding and application, both enabled by the Ruach, that straightens our walk and gives signs and wonders. Knowledge alone will do one thing... make us prideful. 1 Corinthians 8: 1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. 2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. 3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him. Knowledge alone will make you the smartest person in the room but its not about being the smartest, its about proclaiming the name and the character of our Creator and our Messiah. To accomplish that, we had better be balanced in Spirit and in Truth. Shalom and Blessings
