Its the year for the Countrymans Fair. This biannual event is due to be held on Sunday, 30 August 2014 at Werrington Park Estate, near Launceston. In addition to the 150 or so trade stands and rural crafts, activities include a fishing area, with competitions, clinics, and fly casting demonstrations, a Clay Pigeon area, with 50 Bird Sporting and 25 Down the Line Clays, a Dog Show, for family and gun dogs, ferret racing, helicopter rides, and canoeing. This year features the Kangaroo Kids, a quad bike team, with one of the Kids keeping the crowd informed with a witty commentary, whilst displaying incredible skill and agility manoeuvring his selection of quad bikes round the arena. Dont miss the Falconry display, unlike any other, with beautiful specially trained Arab and Friesian horses working with the birds.
