Its time for James Giovanni Pans pick for the Camera of the Year 2014. This year has been really great when it comes to digicam offerings. Many companies have really stepped up their game in providing the consumers and professionals the tools which will perform well and most importantly, get the job done. Favorite Color Output: Fujis XT-1 is a super camera. The image quality under low lighting situation is clean and sharp. Favorite Action (Tied): Samsung NX-1 is any sport shooters dream come true. Ultra-fast burst in full 28mp resolution. Sony A77ii is still my-to-go camera for anything fast. Awesome tracking mode, quick and reliable focusing, and a price that is insanely affordable. Coupled with the amazing Tamron 150-600 super-telephoto lens, this system is still less than $2k!! Favorite All-Around: Olympus OMD-EM-1. Probably my favorite Micro 4/3rd camera to date. It does everything so well. coupled with the Zuiko 75mm f/1.8, this little system can go head to head with a few of the DSLR brothers out there. Favorite Small Cam: Panasonic LX-100. Little body, big performer. This camera was the most anticipated for the year. Once in hand, it didnt disappoint. Good for traveling. Favorite Video Capturing: Sony A7s. Need I say more? This was my pick for Camera of the Year 2013. Still the cleanest images over anything above ISO 6400. Favorite Bridge: Leica Type 114. Fast focusing, beautiful images. This is my most-used camera of the year because it will deliver under any situations. Favorite Studio: Leica S2. Its got the red dot. Period. Game over. Favorite Design and Aesthetic: Pentax Q-S1. Cute as Scarlett Johansson, but performs like Meryl Streeps. Favorite Cute: Samsung NX-Mini. Slim, simple, but gets attention on and off the field. I love this camera. Honorable Mention: Nikon D750. Late in the game, but nevertheless, by far, the best performer in all areas. This is one lean, mean serious machine. Nikon hit it on the head with this one. A solid camera and a great example of how far and advanced Nikon have come along. Kudos for always pushing the envelopes and not staying stagnant like... My pick for 2014: The Sony A6000. This is a no-brainer. Currently, they are selling for under $600 and comes with the power zoom lens. But, the price is not the only amazing part. Under the hood is a big APS-C sensor, a gorgeous effective EVF, the fantastic Bionz-X processor, and well.. too much to list. Congratulations again Sony. Thank you for caring enough to design products that actually answer to many of the consumers needs. dpreview/articles/6428641287/mid-range-mirrorless-camera-roundup/8 https://youtube/watch?v=3RnXgIHbM3k (Disclaimer: I dont work for Sony. I wouldnt mind, but, most already know I work for the best company in the world).
