Its time for my annual Opening Day prediction, and this year I am going to be a little more pessimistic than usual. I say that the Pittsburgh Pirates will finish with a record of 152-10. I try to be at least somewhat realistic the rest of the time, but Opening Day is a time for unbridled optimism. (In the past, I have usually predicted a record of 160-2.) To go along with that prediction, I say that Pedro will hit .312 with 49 home runs (and four stolen bases). And Jason Grilli will save 22 games - only because most of our 152 wins will not present him with save situations.
