Its time for the Doris Day liveblog! (Happy 90th, Doris! We still love you!) Were starting with the 1951 Warner Brothers musical Ill See You In My Dreams, a biography of lyricist Gus Kahn (Danny Thomas) - although Doris somehow gets first billing. Hows THAT supposed to work? Anyway, I should announce right at the outset that I know nothing about Mr. Kahn or his work, but Im sure this B-grade studio biopic will be 100% historically accurate, as well as a hard-hitting expose of Kahns private life. Within the limits of the 1951 Production Code, of course. HA HA HA HA HA! Just a little joke to kick things off there. But the credits are rolling and Im seeing the names Mary Wickes and Jim Backus, so things are already looking up.
