Its time to reflect on this past year of hunting and just make - TopicsExpress

Its time to reflect on this past year of hunting and just make some general observation and little fact known. Probably NOT a good idea to go too in depth, suffice to say this little status will be labeled as TMII When posting to hunt (and you have found a snug place and do not want to move too much due to a lot of activity seems to be around you) it may seem the right thing to do when nature calls you to pee is slowly lift up from your posting position onto your knees and wiz away. Well, no matter how dry that dirt may look you just dug out a little / kinda like a holding pond for you vacate, it will not absorb a XXL Maverick soda near fast enough and then you will find yourself, or rather you knees in a flood zone. Just bite the bullet stand up and swivel no matter how much attention you draw...otherwise your knees and whatever attire you have on them will pick up dirt and debris the remainder of the day and you will no doubt be alerting the game that MR. HUMAN PEE MAN is in the area. When carrying a pint size bottle of Elk Urine in your pants pocket (just in case it pops open in your back pack and covers all of your dry clothes you may need not to mention your food (ewww) use duct tape to hold that lid down while in your pocket. Because now you have just inadvertently gone from protecting your dry cloths and food to literally telling all the predators that may be out and about that you are (at least from the pocket in your pants down) playing a game of catch me if you can and eat me! And when your Elk Urine spills inside yourr pants and you have none to rub on he bottom of your shoe to cover your sent as you walk over known game trails. Now you will find you must pick and choose which poop pile rom the game you are in pursuit of and determine if it is old, too dry or one day or less old but still usable OR whoa! Should have stuck a stick in that before my boot.....waaayyyy to freash. However, the later does make for covering up scent quite well, but will forbid you entry into the house when the hunt is over So much more knowledge to pass on, maybe for another day. Ive got to get my boots cleaned off before my wife makes it home :) :) :)
