Its time to throw back Thursday ...alllllll the way back. When my grandfather died my grandmother asked me if I would like to have the family Bible. I didnt know what a family Bible was other than obviously a Bible that the whole family would share on religious holidays and special occasions, maybe it was considered an heirloom or something ....and I really didnt know did we even had such a thing . Well its not just a Bible and it is definitely an heirloom. Turns out its been in the family since probably 1838. And what they did was they wrote birth and death and wedding announcements in there and the dates. So you have this amazing collection of handwriting for starters not to mention the dates and the names and the information I have never known. Whats more this is a big honkin book. And 100 decided to flip through it and gently look to see if there was anything stuck between the pages, and sure enough there was. Photos, old receipts & valentine card from God knows when along with some other knick knacks. Im pretty sure theres more stuff inside the book but the pages are so old its difficult to not ruin the pages so someday when I have more time and patience and going to sit down and just go through every page I guess. The other night I even found some old wild flowers pressed in there. ... who knows how old are those are. Anyway Im glad I have it so now I can continue the tradition and try and fill in the gaps that have been left out for about 40 years . And definitely going to hit ancestry and put in some names
