Its tough being a foster parent when you know its time to let them go--and now it is time to let Beau go to a new home. I hope youll share Beaus story. Beau is your typical three year old Lab--awkward, goofy and very, very affectionate. With one big exception---Beau had progressive cataracts in both eyes which would have rendered him totally blind if not for major eye surgery. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor he had the surgery on his left eye which was successful. His right eye although no surgery was performed has improved with medications. He loves to be very close to his human family. He’s always trying to touch you or sleep next to you or sit on your feet. He’s “Needy” in a very good way! He’s completely house trained and does well in the house –(unless your husband slips him tacos and macaroni salad late at night)! He loves playing in a yard too but really loves being indoors with you even more. He gets along great with other dogs. At first he wasn’t great with cats but after a few weeks he acted like he had always lived with cats. His only bad habit is he still jumps up when excited to see you. He can now fetch Frisbees and tennis balls –although he doesn’t always bring them back. Beua is still on two eye medications and will do best in a home where they will be able to provide those eye meds and also the love and attention he really deserves. I do not recommend a home with small children because of his jumping habits—he would accidentally knock down a small child and possibly scratch them by accident from his jumping. Contact the Center if interested.
