Its turning in to sad- mad world. I do not know this writer but after reading his open letter i gather that he is a selfless, devoted scholar. His other nonfiction works are unique and fruits of really hard work.If such scholars are treated like this, who would come forward to write about to become extinct languages and their dictionaries? Who would chart out inhuman customs from past which have echos in present? He writes about the disputed part of his novel, in his open letter- Carnivals where crowds assemble have often provided opportunities for such union and conception. In the field of folklore, oral histories are available that attest to this fact. Cultural anthropologists such as Theodore Baskaran, A. Sivasubramanian, and A. K. Perumal have recorded these facts. I linked one such narrative to the Tiruchengode festival and wrote ‘Madhorubagan.’ So now are these ignorant protesters going to burn books by these cultural anthropologists too? if so then the way Perumal Murugan the writer is dead all libraries, museums with all their precious things should be killed for few offendables (?) Do read the full text of this link and respond. I ask-Is it possible to translate his works in Marathi/other languages and mention on cover dead author as an author?
