Its unlikely many of you will have heard of Primal flow, animal flow and Zuu (I recommend looking them up! There are numerous platforms in which you could). To the untrained eye it would appear that it is largely comprised of people moving around in an unstructured and possibly even unsafe manner. Why would people do this? (check out the video to gain a possible insight, it explains why it might be useful to get out of one dimensional training). All of the above can be an excellent tool to build a far vaster movement capacity/tolerance, therefore improving general functionality and performance if you participate in sports. It could also leave you at a lower risk of injury. Cool story, I know. A reason could be that injury can frequently occur because the bodies tissues have been put under stresses that it is not at that stage able to deal with efficiently. I dont recommend trying what Ido Portal (guy in the video) did as you will probably break your ankles or something. But as you can clearly see, he does not. Why? BECAUSE HE HAS APPLIED KNOWLEDGE AND CARE TOWARDS TRAINING HIS BODIES TISSUES TO DO THIS AND MANY MANY OTHER MOVEMENTS SO HIS BODY IS LESS LIKELY TO BE CAUGHT OFF GUARD.(subscribe to his youtube channel to see what I mean). The earlier in life you can build a vast repertoire and knowledge of movements, the better. Excellent results can still be achieved even if you are older. Whoever you are proceed any movement venture with care, be prepared to be versatile and then have fun with it. We are more pliable and adaptable than you may think, accepting that will help!
