Its usually sad to write about the demise of a friend, a former classmate. A famous English writer Robert Bolt would have asked the kind of question that is currently in my mind: what is it that our Botswana can behold without awe? I am still beholden of the News I received on that fateful Monday afternoon on the 29th of December 2014 I received an avalenche of messages that my former classmate, the lady who I spent 10 years as my classmate (from 1998 doing standard 1 to 2007 doing form 3 when we parted to different senior schools has departed this troubled planet to meet her creator. My heart froze and a sense of intense sadness engulfed me. Its hard to lose such a person you spent so much time with. This is so painful. Some of my dear friends and indeed friends to our fallen classmate were calling and asking whether this could be painting of the rigging of festive accidents but the lady was sick lately. Again this very great loss reminds us as people that it is so hard to live but and yet so easy to die. I still remember our last convo with her here on facebook as we hardly meet but I was glad to hear from her and that was wonderful. Its not always that easy but the memorable moments we would always cherish, those of us who we spent much time with her as person. She may have died so young but she was rich in spirit. Fame and pomposity wasnt part of her character. She leaves a vaccum too big to fill in all aspects of life. I convey my heartfelt condolences to Lilian Simon family and besieged the almighty to guard and protect them. Let accept that Lilian ran her race and completed her tasks in this world. She has gone to sleep her legacy is the wisdom. Bruce Lee would have put it, the key to immortality us first living a life worth remembering MAY LILIAN SOUL REST IN PEACE.
