Its very rare that I will completely miss a long run... in fact I could probably count the number of times on two fingers ;) TODAY was one of those days. Its so important that we learn to listen to our bodies and really know when we should and shouldnt push ourselves. I felt some tenderness in my lower right back that made me pause before walking out the door this morning. That kind of pause where your check raises a bit and you tilt your head wondering what that feeling is?!? So, I took off from running and waited until this evening to give PiYo a go instead. THAT was the right decision. My body feels soooo much better. This sequence in particular really helped stretch and elongate the muscles in my back and core. The slow controlled movements REALLY make you feel a difference! So many members who have had past injuries and are starting back slowly have been finding out that this PIYO program IS helping them tremendously with their recovery but also with their progress toward weight loss, strength, and flexibility goals.
