Its very rare to see a TV show that is disturbing, let alone one that is a comedy of sorts produced by Channel Four in the UK, but such is a show I watched the other day, Jam, a 2000 TV series by the brilliant Chris Morris – mastermind behind the shows The Day Today, a parody of current affairs programs, and Brass Eye, a brutal satire on the media in general – youre only likely to know him for portraying Reynholm, the loud obnoxious boss, in the first season of The IT Crowd. Also features cast from Nighty Night and Brian from Spaced. From the first episode I knew this was a subversive work of art and, dare I say it, genius rarely seen in a TV show – creepy, too.
