Its well known that #Torontos #streetcar network is broken, but this story succinctly outlines just how much of a pain it is to rely on the quaint red cars. From the comments below the article, this one really sums it up: Toronto is the only metropolitan area on the face of the earth that gets no stable transit funding from upper levels of government and what it does get is pathetic compared to various hotbeds of socialism and communism such as Alberta and Texas. Overall the rolling average of City Of Torontos tax increases hasnt kept up with the rate of inflation for 16 years. No money - no service: shocker eh?
