Its with a much sadness that Martin and I thought it was kinder to have Tiggy put to sleep today as he has been suffering from Cushings Disease and he was beginning to show symptoms that were not very nice and before he became too ill we decided to afford him the dignity of letting him go. We loved him very much and we shall remember all the great times we had with him at the shows when we lived in Poole, the rosettes and cups we won, the hunting, pony club camp and hacking out when we would encounter the Puddle Monster and he would not get his hooves wet !! It was very peaceful and quick at the end and Kate. Eve, Heather, Martin and I got to say goodbye. A big thank you to Jackie and Kirsty from Avenue Vets in Grantham for their professionalism in helping us through this this very sad time. A few words adapted from a piece that I read in Horse and Hound that has stayed with me in tribute to little Tiggy. For one last time you close your eyes and gallop off into the skies. Well remember you each and every day, all the fun we had over the years and along the way. At the end we knew there was nothing more we could do and despite our sadness we had to release you and let you go. Our hearts are heavy and its hard not to be sad, but go and graze peacefully in the meadow in the skies. Gallop on in heaven - Tigs we will miss now youve got your Angel Wings May 1996 - Oct. 2014
