Its with a very heavy heart that I must share this news... Due to the extremely hard recession and lack of support, we will not be able to award any future scholarships for services for 2014 and beyond unless a major miracle happens. Unfortunately, horses eat...a lot, and the costs to serve our community are high. On average it costs $3k or more each month, year round to support the herd, their care and to pay for our necessary expenses for program supplies, equipment and insurance. We have received less than 15% of our annual budget since January 1st. My family has made up for shortfalls out of pocket, but we have nothing left we give at this point. I am offering the opportunity for paid instruction and sessions through Epona Horsemanship (which we started as a fundraising opportunity for BFEAT), in an effort to keep the herd fed and well, but there are only so many lessons one can teach each day :( If you ever wanted to help, now would be the best time.
