The great thing about knowledge is that at some point one must apply it to their own life/standards. As I was reflecting early this am I’ve come to the realization that many people who abide in Western civilization are selfish and more so than those who abide in an Eastern culture. In the West its all about “me.” Whereas, in the East things are done for “community and family.” I will not even approach the whole psychological factor of Freuds Id, Ego & Superego for then I would be writing for hours, LOL! But seriously, I began to ponder that even our desire within the church seeking positions is a form of idolatry. Yes I said IDOLATRY! Isn’t it ironic the very thing we teach against we begin to do to seek position to vaunt ourselves to a place above others. Bare with me a moment, here is a theory - - often because we do feel validated within ourselves and who we are, we use the “church” as a means to climb higher. Yeah, that’s a theory I can expound on all day long. But back to my point - - it is your walk and your life and what you do for others that defines your worth. In addition, your relationship with God defines you. Sigh, we are but DUST!! And in this flesh NOTHING IS GOOD! Spirit trumps flesh! Flesh fades and flesh must be triumphed over for we die daily. If you have not read “Ethics for the new Millennium” by the Dalai Lama I encourage you to do so. Hmm.. Yeah I heard you – QB has become a heretic. Nope, I just believe in knowledge so I can make not only make an informed decision, but also an articulation about my life; and it allows me to view life through other perspectives, i.e. peoples eye lens/scope. I was fussing the entire time I had to read it but now I’m grateful for the knowledge, and knowledge is power, and knowledge allows one to be informed. Knowledge means just cos my daddy and my mommy taught me something does NOT make it true! It allows one to not just MAKE an assumption about what they believe in but it allows one to KNOW that who they worship is the one and ONLY living God! Seek to know that you might grow! I am HIS servant for life, Ride and Die!
