It’s Monday, Dec. 29. Here is some of what Sun staffers and other news providers are working on for lowellsun and Tuesday’s edition. • Reporter Grant Welker, gwelker@lowellsun, will have a look back at notable deaths of 2014. Those folks who made us laugh, made us cry, made us mad, made us wonder. • Does the sun shine brighter over Townsend? Apparently so judging from the number of applications for solar permits filed at Town Hall. Anne O’Connor, a reporter with The Sun’s sister publication, Nashoba Publications, has the story. • The State House News Service is out with a story about lawmaker salaries. As the state grapples with budget problems in the dying days of the Patrick administration, aides to the governor are also busy trying to calculate an adjustment in the base pay for lawmakers. • Reporter Amelia Pak-Harvey, apak-harvey@lowellsun, is riding the roads of Tyngsboro with Jim Hustins, the town’s highway superintendent, to learn first-hand which roads are in good shape and which need work. Follow The Sun on facebook/lowellsun; on our mobile app; or on lowellsun. We welcome your suggestions, comments and contributions to staff members via their email addresses, or to Editor Jim Campanini (@suneditor) or jcampanini@lowellsun.
