It’s Simple Really – We all Need Each Other to Step Up! GSRA has arranged for all three 2014 gubernatorial candidates to address our membership and guests at the Annual Meeting. One of these three candidates WILL be our next governor. In the words of GSRA President Claude Vickers, “If the candidate who will be our next governor gets the impression that we have only a handful of members interested enough in their Association’s advocacy for their health insurance and retirement benefits to even show up at our Annual Meeting, it will be self-fulfilling that the next governor will NOT be interested in YOU”. If you really care about your eroding pension and health insurance benefits, you will never have a better chance to make an impression on the person who will have the most impact over both during the next four years! Please don’t make the mistake of thinking that others will pick up the slack and represent you at the Annual Meeting. Make the commitment to yourself, your loved ones and your fellow retirees and show the next Governor of Georgia that you are passionately interested in how recent administrations have negatively impacted the security of your future. The Annual Meeting is coming up October 6-7. If you don’t care to attend the full two days, by all means be there for the gubernatorial candidate presentations on Tuesday afternoon, October 7!
