It’s Time to Adopt the MCC Budget BELLEVUE, WA – WSRP Chairman Kirby Wilbur released the following statement regarding today’s positive revenue forecast, that shows state revenue is projected to be $231 million more than at the last forecast: “Today’s revenue forecast shows that the Governor and the Democrats in the State House can drop their demand for higher taxes, adopt the bipartisan Senate Majority Coalition’s budget and go home. That budget is balanced, significantly increases education funding more than the Democrats’ alternative, and doesn’t raise taxes on Washington’s struggling middle class and working families. I understand it’s hard for the Democrats to not raise taxes, nor feed their addiction to higher taxes and spending, but Governor Inslee and Speaker Chopp should do the right thing and show their party is not hostage to special interests and can be fiscally responsible.
