Officials are building a new visitors center featuring a solar canopy and two electric vehicle charging stations. The Associated Press is reporting this story. • Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Rachel Kaprielian is in Lowell today to announcemore than $12.2 million in grants to help train health care providers and reduce health care costs, part of the Health Care Cost Containment Act. Pak-Harvey is also reporting this story. • The town of Billerica will be forced to cut $1.6 million after Selectmen Chairman Mike Rosa fought against the raising and appropriation of $1.6 million into debt stabilization. Reporter Kyle Clauss has this story. • And at Devens, the Devens Enterprise Commission will hear a presentation tonight by Dr. Michael Krupa on construction of a 100-bed hospital to serve people with mental illness. According to a source close to Dr. Krupa, the hospital would be build on Patton Road not far from Red Tail Golf Club. The need for such a facility is considered great due to the closing of mental health treatment centers throughout the state, including the one located at Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg.
