It’s a New Year and Back to School! Make sure you give your kids a healthy and filling breakfast to kick start the day, such as a fibre-rich cereal with milk or yoghurt, or a slice of toast with poached egg or peanut butter. Look for different snack foods to add to lunch boxes in addition to the staple sandwich, such as dried fruit bits, unsalted nuts and pumpkin seeds, cheese blocks and yoghurt. Add a fresh fruit and either baby tomatoes, cucumber or carrot sticks for nutrient value and colour. Remember to add an ice pack to keep things cold and at a safe temperature!
