It’s a stride taken to end domestic violence and now bullying. For the first time the Business and Professional’s Women Club (BPW) of Grand Cayman’s Silent Witness March remembers those who have suffered from bullying. With pink and red silhouettes in hand victims of bullying and domestic violence are remembered. “This is the first time we are adding bulling, it was at the request of the Family Resource Centre and it was intended to recognize the victims of bullying and to get out youth involved because they tend to be the victims of bullying for the most part,” said Andrea Williams, who is BPW’s president. More than 200 people, both young and old, trekked through the streets of George Town to the Celebration Park. Their message is to eradicate bullying and domestic violence. “They don’t have a voice. We are trying to give a voice. It is a Silent Witness March. We march in silence, but what we really want to do at the end of the day is talk,” said Mrs. Williams. Christopher Ebanks, who was a participant and supporter, attended the march for his mom, Anna Ebanks Evans, who went missing in January 2011. Mr. Ebanks said he was happy he joined in the march. “I feel good that I see a good amount of people out here who’s basically out here seeking justice too,” added Mr. Ebanks. One in three women worldwide suffer abuse from domestic violence and the BPW urges people to report any incidences of domestic violence to the police right away. The 345 Flash Mobsters
