It’s been a busy last few months on the campaign trail. I’ve met so many amazing people in every ward across the city and learnt so much about the needs of the District and it’s residents. It’s been an incredible journey. I would like to thank all of my supporters, volunteers and staff for the hard work that they put into this campaign. Your help and encouragement kept me going even during the hardest times. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with each and every one of you. This was a historic election, and the voters have spoken. I congratulate Karl Racine, his supporters and campaign staff on their victory. They ran a great race. Let’s all give him our best thoughts for the future direction of this office. This is an important time for our city. As we continue to press for more autonomy, it’s imperative we have leaders that can put a best face forward for the District. I will continue, as I always have, to be a strong advocate for budget autonomy and DC statehood. I will continue fight to end human trafficking and help victims secure justice and do everything within my power to aid the citizens of our city who need it the most. I love the District of Columbia, and will continue to work relentlessly to help it achieve its full potential. Thank you all again for believing in me.
