It’s been a month since we welcomed our new Head of Project - TopicsExpress

It’s been a month since we welcomed our new Head of Project Development, Emma Quilligan, to the Madagascar office and she’s been settling in fantastically well. Working in Azafady’s Conservation, Environment and Sustainable Livelihoods departments, Emma got stuck straight into team meetings to develop our projects on community forest management and reforestation, moringa and fruit tree cultivation, fuel-efficient stove construction, and alternative income generation, as well as preparing reports for donors and liaising with the London office. Having spent the last three years working in Mexico for the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, Emma is looking forward to working closely with the Malagsy team on projects that directly impact the local communities. Emma loves living in Fort Dauphin (and enjoying the beaches that surround it!) but says that her favourite part of the last month was definitely travelling to Saint Luce to witness the ongoing conservation initiatives and help with the recent World Environment Day celebrations (photos below)!
