It’s cold…correction: it’s freezing cold! I just took the Commander to school, and as I got out of the car in my UGGs, hat, coat, sweater, pull-over over the sweater, tights, and gloves…I couldnt help but think of all of you who work outside. I thought of that precious little girl, barefoot and in shorts, who the angels led out of the woods after the rest of her family died in a plane crash. I thought of our homeless who feel the bite of this weather more than most. But then...as I was racing (and not fast enough) into the school, still chilly in my all warm clothes, I thought about the slaves who ran miles and miles to freedom in cold, snowy temperatures, with the minimum clothing and shoes (if that…) on them. I thought of those pictures of the Holocaust victims in thin clothes, battling the cold as they tried to survive that awful time in history. And there are many more stories…. I thank God for my warm coat, my warm hat, my super warm boots, my gloves, and my warm house that I come back to (my husband isn’t too happy that it feels like Trinidad in here…). Many didn’t…and don’t have such. Stay warm, stay grateful….and take your vitamin C.
