It’s common knowledge that people are more prone to want SUGAR than they are to want SALT, which is why it’s so difficult to get people to CHANGE their PERSONALITIES, CHARACTERS, and BEHAVIORS for the better when you give them the Gospel message. As Christians, we are the SALT of the earth, and SALT as we know is a SEASONING that can oftentimes leave a BITTER TASTE in your mouth, just as RIGHTEOUSNESS does to the mouth of the SINNER. But when fed SUGAR, you’re really just being fed what TASTES GOOD, the things you WANT to hear, the things that make you FEEL GOOD, and the things that APPEAL to your FLESH. Too many churches and Preachers today are preaching SUGAR messages so as NOT to OFFEND anyone, and to keep as many people/members from leaving the church as possible. The result of which, however, is that NOT MUCH, if any, SPIRITUAL GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT is taking place, so there really is NO LASTING BENEFIT to anyone at all. But when the Gospel message of SALT is sprinkled on the life of someone, they have NO CHOICE but to EXAMINE themselves, whether they choose to CHANGE or not. SALT challenges you to SEE yourself as God sees YOU, and causes you to make SPIRITUAL decisions over CARNAL ones. As Christians, we are the SALT of the earth for a reason, and that reason is to be the RIGHTEOUS SEASONING for every life we touch.
