It’s crucial to remember to reflect mindfully on your thoughts and actions. When you realize you’ve acted on automatic pilot and in a self-defeating way, with your new mindfulness you can view yourself and your actions with the COAL qualities of curiosity, openness, acceptance, and love rather than judging yourself for the very fact that you are human. The process of becoming more mindful requires committing to the goal of mindfulness and, equally importantly, to the effort it takes to be mindful, and not condemning yourself for being human and sometimes acting mindlessly.
