It’s easy to say that I am passionate about Milton. But this - TopicsExpress

It’s easy to say that I am passionate about Milton. But this statement does not distinguish me from any other candidate running for office here. What DOES set me apart are my actions. This time, I am not talking about renovating historic buildings and houses or opening businesses and hiring employees. From the first year my family moved here, nearly a decade ago, we have volunteered our time and services for events that help the community. Besides serving on several boards, I was instrumental in starting the free movies at the Imogene, swing dance nights at the Imogene and in the back of our store, as well as lending a hand on many projects. I played Santa (Don’t tell your kids!) three years in a row in our building on Willing Street. I started the Friday night cruise-ins by driving to similar events in Pace and Pensacola and persuading the drivers to come to Milton. I supplied each driver with a free hot dog and drink until the event was well established. My wife, Deb has been both on stage and behind the scenes in several productions by the Panhandle Community Theatre. She did the design work for past Scratch Ankle festivals and designs posters for plays and events. She has recently volunteered to help coach Special Olympics tennis. In January of 2009 the (second) great Milton fire started in the building next to ours, destroying our warehouse full of inventory and doing extensive damage to the interior. Since we had another store in a Simon mall in Panama City Beach, we moved there for a few years until we could rebuild and move back. And back we are! Our daughter loves Milton High School. She is a Senior this year and will attend Locklin for Culinary Arts. What a great opportunity. I am ready to continue to work hard for you as your next Milton City Councilman. Early voting is going on now. I ask that you head over to the early voting location behind the McDonald’s on Hwy 90 and vote for Gary Pruitt for Milton City Council. Thank you for your vote!
