It’s homecoming week here at school and as I walk through the halls of Aspen Ridge and Westwood, I can’t help but think how lucky we are. The high school is decorated for the week’s festivities and the ARS building is adorned with student school work and all the exciting opportunities happening in the elementary and middle school. My job is unique. Like many jobs, I spend a serious amount of time in meetings and behind a desk. Every day, though, I get to tour our halls and see and hear our students learning chemistry and physics, calculus and biology, and literature and composition. I get to hear songs coming from the vocal music rooms that are performed so well you’d think they were prerecorded. I get to hear the bands, thunderous and loud one moment and quiet and delicate the next, right on cue. I get to see our fine and industrial arts students producing professional quality work. I get to see kids confident, strong and proud of themselves and their school. We have a lot to be thankful for and it’s great to get to see our students in action every day. If you get a chance, join us at homecoming on Friday when we get the opportunity to share a little bit of our school spirit with everyone. Bryan DeAugustine Superintendent
